Did some scrapping over the weekend

There was an extreme crop at lifetime moments over the weekend and these are the layouts I got done for some of the challenges. The first layout was for a challenge about the year you were born. It needs some embellishments, but I can't decide what so I posted as is to meet the challenge deadline

These next two I used some heritage photos. I borrowed (without his knowledge when I watched the dogs once) some photo CDs from my dad with a bunch of old family pictures. I am having a lot of fun scrapping them.

The last layout I used pictures of my grandparents that I took at our family reunion last summer.

I have a confession

I'm addicted to shopping for scrap supplies at Big Lots. I just can't help myself. I know that it's not the "latest and greatest", but I don't care. Today I found some embellishments that match paper I already have in my stash. There's just something about buying an item for a dollar at Big Lots that would cost me five or six or, sometimes, even more at the scrap store that makes me feel so thrifty. I may end up giving some of this to one of my friends that is just starting to scrap and/or donate some for prizes for my scrap group. Here's what I got for under 25 dollars today:
brads 60
cardstock 2
chipboard alpha/num 51+51+56=158
flowers 60
pattern paper 39
pins 40
plastic shapes 37
ribbon 2 cards with 6 yds ea = 12
stickers 5
and the deal of the day . . . a 25 yard roll of heidi grace ribbon (only a dollar!!!) - definitely will be sharing this

So that brings my total purchases to:

my take on scrapping accountability

I was inspired by some people over at http://www.lifetimemoments.com/ to start a scrapping accountability blog (you can visit their blogs by clicking the links to the right). Here it is. I suspect that I buy far more supplies than I use (ok, let's be honest, I know I buy far more supplies than I use). So for me this is about using the supplies I already have and not overbuying new supplies.

Here are the rules I will follow:
-all embellishments will be counted by the piece and by type (if I buy a pack and it says an approximate number this is the number I will use for the purchase amount)
-ribbon will be tracked in inches when used and yards when purchased
-paper/cardstock will be counted once for each new piece
-scraps will be counted once on a project (ie. if I make a set of cards and use the same scrap on all the cards it will be counted once; if the scrap goes back in the drawer it will be counted again the next time it's taken out)
-ink, paint, pens, stamps will be counted each time they are used and once for purchase
-stickers will be counted individually when used and by the pack when bought
-I'm not counting adhesive
-these rules are flexible and I will change/add things as needed
